Your Rights as a Creator
When you upload original Rive animations, you automatically own:
Copyright to your creative work
Right to license your content to buyers
Right to sell on multiple platforms (unless you choose exclusivity)

What Copyright Covers
Your Rive animations are protected if they contain:
Original artistic expression and design choices
Unique character movements and interactions
Creative user interface elements
Original illustrations or graphics incorporated into animations
What Copyright Doesn't Cover
Copyright protection does not extend to:
Basic geometric shapes or simple movements
Common UI patterns (e.g., buttons, spinners)
Ideas or concepts (only the specific execution is protected)

How Copyright Protection Works
Rillic complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA):
Copyright owners can request removal
Clear violations are removed within 4 hours
Creators can file a counter-notice
Repeat offenders lose their accounts
If Someone Reports Your Content
You’ll receive an email with:
A copy of the takedown notice
Explanation of the complaint
Instructions for submitting a counter-notice
A response deadline (usually 10–14 days)
Your options:
Accept the removal
Submit a counter-notice
Contact the complainant directly
Seek legal advice if needed
Counter-Notice Process
To dispute a takedown:
Provide your contact info and electronic signature
Identify the removed content and previous location
State under penalty of perjury that it was a mistake
Consent to jurisdiction of a federal court
Next Steps:
We forward your notice to the complainant
They have 10–14 days to file a lawsuit
If no suit is filed, we restore the content
If a suit is filed, content stays removed until resolved
